Once in a blue moon: A Leap Year!

What is a leap year?
In a leap year there are 366 days instead of the usual 365.
The extra day is added on February 29,
which is called an intercalary day or a leap day.
They occur every four years.

What do we need them?
Seasons and astronomical events do not repeat at an exact number of full days,
so a calendar which had the same number of days in each year
would over time drift with respect to the event it was supposed to track.
By occasionally inserting (or intercalating) an additional day or month into the year,
the drift can be corrected.

Why are they special?
Leap years are associated with many different traditions.
In England, women may only propose on a leap year.
In Greece it is considered bad luck to get married in a leap year.

What if you are born on a leap day?
A person born on February 29 may be called a "leapling".
In non-leap years, or common years,
they usually celebrate their birthdays on 28 February or 1 March.

 This is kinda late but I can't believe that Singapore won the bid
for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2010!
Actually on second thought, I saw it coming but Singapore being a dot on the map,
is now recognised by the youths of the world man haha.
Sometimes these kind of events for youths make adults feel old,
don't you think so? I guess I feel a little bit old though I am still a teen. lol.
The YOG is targeting children aged 14 to 18 in 2010. By then, I'll be around 20-21.
Wait, that means i'm no longer a teen. LOL. 
Oh well. I always wanted to join something like national day or somewhat a national event.
Ambitious huh? lol. dream on the moon in the singapore flag.

 Leslie has left for China for his internship.
Kinda feel a little weird without him around.
There isn't any guitar sounds,
sounds of Tabbee isn't around too. lol.

Went to Tampanis Safra to bowl with Firdaus and Benny.
Played for about 3 games before each took turns at the pool table.

Made our way to TP, our new school, to take a good look.
I didn't make it for the open house so I thought it would be great
because I called Joan to see if she could give us a guided tour around the campus.
Its quite nice to know that we are going to the
same school but different courses. =)
I kinda like the whole school feeling. The design school.
I may want to purchase the TP Jacket one day. lol.
Its like everything you need, they have it kinda feeling.
Anyway, it was really nice to see a swimming pool.
Though I am not good at swimming or playing badmintion,
I want to make it a point to use it since they have it.

Joan dropped us off at the bus stop cos she had to
meet her other friends. Firdaus went home and Benny
followed me to see August again. I was really tired and fell
asleep soon after we played UNO. lol. That's about it these days.
