Last Day

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY: JING XI
Took three exams in a row yesterday!
Social Studies, Chinese & Chinese B.
Chinese B was scary.
Everyone was not doing the exam, instead they were talking!
The examiner just bang on the table and demanded silence.
The exam finished when I stopped writing.

Teachers Day.
hm.. it was much better as compared to last year.
Chin Sian and I were clapping & shouting our lungs out because we
had nothing better to do, so we just entertained ourselves.
This whole week. wow.
Exam exam exam.
Next whole week gonna do some last minute studies for prelims.
As always.

Welcome to The Purgatory

What the hell were talking about?
Hell.
Vincent and I was just discussing about Hell
and I found it quite interesting because the term
Hell has been used in alot of ways - from metaphors to

1 In some religions, hell is the place where the Devil lives,
and where wicked people are sent to be punished when they die.
Hell is usually imagined as being under the ground and full of flames.

2 If you say that a particular situation or place is hell,
you are emphasizing that it is extremely unpleasant.
...the hell of the Siberian labor camps...

3 Hell is used by some people when they are angry or excited,
or when they want to emphasize what they are saying.
`Hell, no!' the doctor snapped.

4 You can use as hell after adjectives or some adverbs
to emphasize the adjective or adverb.
The men might be armed, but they sure as hell weren't trained...

5 If you say that a place or a situation is hell on earth or a hell on earth,
you are emphasizing that it is extremely unpleasant or that it causes great suffering.
She believed she would die in the snake-infested sand dunes. She said: `It was hell on earth'.

6 If someone does something for the hell of it, or just for the hell of it,
they do it for fun or for no particular reason.
Managers seem to be spending millions just for the hell of it.

7 You can use from hell after a noun when you are emphasizing
that something or someone is extremely unpleasant or evil.
He's a child from hell...

8 If you tell someone to go to hell,
you are angrily telling them to go away and leave you alone.
`Well, you can go to hell!' He swept out of the room.

9 If you say that someone can go to hell, you are emphasizing
angrily that you do not care about them
and that they will not stop you doing what you want.
Peter can go to hell. It's my money and I'll leave it to who I want...

10 If you say that someone is going hell for leather,
you are emphasizing that they are doing something
or are moving very quickly and perhaps carelessly.
The first horse often goes hell for leather, hits a few fences but gets away with it...

11 Some people say like hell to emphasize that they
strongly disagree with you or are strongly opposed to what you say.
`I'll go myself.'*`Like hell you will!'

12 Some people use like hell to emphasize how strong an action or quality is.
It hurts like hell...

13 If you describe a place or situation as a living hell,
you are emphasizing that it is extremely unpleasant.
School is a living hell for some children.

14 If you say that all hell breaks loose,
you are emphasizing that a lot of arguing or fighting suddenly starts.
He had an affair, I found out and then all hell broke loose.

15 If you talk about a hell of a lot of something,
or one hell of a lot of something, you mean that there is a large amount of it.
The manager took a hell of a lot of money out of the club.

16 Some people use a hell of or one hell of to emphasize
that something is very good, very bad, or very big.
Whatever the outcome, it's going to be one hell of a fight.

17 Some people use the hell out of for emphasis
after verbs such as `scare', `irritate', and `beat'.
I patted the top of her head in the condescending way I knew irritated the hell out of her...

18 If you say there'll be hell to pay,
you are emphasizing that there will be serious trouble.
There would be hell to pay when Ferguson and Tony found out about it.

19 To play hell with something means to have a bad effect on it or cause great confusion.
In British English, you can also say that one person or thing plays merry hell with another.
Lord Beaverbrook, to put it bluntly, played hell with the war policy of the R.A.F...

20 If you say that someone raises hell, you are emphasizing
that they protest strongly and angrily about a situation in
order to persuade other people to correct it or improve it.
The only way to preserve democracy is to raise hell about its shortcomings.

21 People sometimes use the hell for emphasis in questions,
after words such as `what', `where', and `why', often in order to express anger.
Where the hell have you been?...

22 If you go through hell, or if someone puts you through hell,
you have a very difficult or unpleasant time.
All of you seem to have gone through hell making this record...

23 If you say you hope to hell or wish to hell that something is true,
you are emphasizing that you strongly hope or wish it is true.
I hope to hell you're right.

24 If you say that you will do something come hell or high water,
you are emphasizing that you are determined to do it, in spite of the difficulties involved.
I've always managed to get into work come hell or high water.

25 You can say `what the hell' when you decide to do something
in spite of the doubts that you have about it.
What the hell, I thought, at least it will give the lazy old man some exercise

26 If you say `to hell with' something, you are emphasizing
that you do not care about something
and that it will not stop you from doing what you want to do.
To hell with this, I'm getting out of here...

Glad that my toilet lights are up and working so that
I won't have to ponder over such a powerful word like this in the dark.
Anyway, just a random thought that I really hope that my sins will be cleared
by the time I naturally die and that I will be given the potion of forgiveness.
When I die, I just want to literally rest in peace, and I mean it. Did I bore you with this topic?
hah! I think its really interesting that Vincent actually brought this topic up because its so damn random.

Imagine there's no heaven
It easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us' only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Happy Belated Birthday to mom!
and thanks to Vincent for letting me think about my sins.

Doggieebabbie

August. A whole new meaning.
Its not just about this interesting month.
We've got a dog and her name is August.
She's a 3-month labrador.
Actually, I have no interest in owning any pets.
It will be a great pain for the whole family instead of 'family bonding'.
I thought it was a very impromptu decision as it was like saying
"Okay, let's go look for a dog now" right before dinner.

Live to Tell: Will I ever have the chance again?

 first&foremost,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
! MELISE !
So today was the start of 5Ns 'O' level English Oral.
It started off relatively easy when it came to the reading.
However, when I was at the picture description, I stumbled alot.
From an 'abacus' I changed it to a 'calculator'.
While doing the picture description, I was distracted by the facial expressions
of the teachers themselves. They all were giving that 'whateva' look, munching
something in their mouths and simply didn't give much respect as we did.
I just thought that they didn't practice what they preech.
Moving on to the conversation, I believed everything when ok.
One thing that got me rather irritated was that I mentioned
"We have to know the fundamentals in order to.."
then she interupted and asked: "fundamentals?"
I explained: "as in we must learn the foundation of.." and
without hesitation, she interupted and repeated "foundations"?
I was quite flustered but hurriedly continued to put on a front.

CME Prelims thursday;
DNT deadline this friday;
Written prelims next week;
Study everyday. sigh.

Go or not?

 Everything is so screwed up.
My computer is slowing down.
If I didn't had any siblings?
(Haha, I wouldn't be able to make this desision because I wouldn't be around)
I really have no one to turn to - to talk about things - not even my siblings.
All I always do is to help others but what happen when I needed?
The main reason why I don't want people to use my computer
is that it is already slowing down and if they download music, how
much can my computer take when they don't want to download on their own ones?
Jiejie needed to print stuff and the only place she has in mind is my computer.
And when I told her about it in front of mom, she got so worked up finding the disc.
She went to ask Leslie if there was any space to put a printer upstairs and his reply: no.
Sure. Jiejie called Leslie beforehand.
They just love to gossip behind my back.
Siblings, I call them.

Last post for 41th Singapore =D

Thanks for dropping by!
I am really proud to announce that I lost the above image that says "Welcome To Derek's Blog".
This week will be a really short week and I guess I will be spending at least half of my time
at Aranda during the National Day break, in condition that they don't close it. As for everything
else that is going on with my life, erm, I shall say that I will not be on the computer as much as
before - said too much. Yes. I will have to work on lots of things right before the prelims.
DPA did not contact me, so I believe I'm not chosen.. anyway, the chances are slim and my hopes
ain't high. Oh well. Okay, This is really a random post since its gonna be my last post for the 41st
Singapore! I went to Tampines Mall with Joan this evening to watch transformers - great movie!
I've watched this show with Benny and isn't it worth watching again for a good cause?
Await for my next entry about my new family member!

"Umbrella (Slow Version)", "Grace Kelly", ..

I actually have to tell mom about my awful results but
I don't really want to because its really rather unbelievable.
I failed my English, History, Sciences. & only passed Chinese.
That is reallllly bad.
